At age 11 Quillan started studying guitar under the guidance of Dave Crowden at Magpie Music in Bega. After acquiring the basic guitar skills, Quillan focussed his studies on classical guitar and progressed to pass the Australian Music Examination Board 5th Grade exam.
Dave invited Quillan to become one of the founding members of Guitarama, a brilliant ensemble that has, over the years included some truly outstanding young musicians. Quillan contributed to the first two Guitarama cds, before leaving the Bega Valley to see more of the world.
Quillan continued playing music, and once back at home, started a group - 'QNA' - with friends Nicholas Ryan and Albert McKnight. Their first gig was at the Cobargo Folk Festival and they are working steadily towards bigger things and a larger repertoire.
We were delighted to host Quillan's first visit to The Shed, and look forward to more. Come back soon Quillan!
